Why should you consider winter tyres?
As the winter is slowly creeping in you will probably notice that there is more ice on the roads. Would switching to winter tyres improve driver safety? Yes!
Here are a few reasons why you should consider using Winter Tyres
Why these tyres are different?
The main reason people decide not to use Winter Tyres is because they feel that they only need them for when their is snow on the roads. Winter Tyres are not Snow Tyres. Winter tyres are meant to be more effective than standard tyres in any temperature lower than 7 degrees celcius.
Winter tyres are designed to work on all types of road surface and due to the fact they have a larger percentage of cilica nad rubber in the compound they are less prone to freezing in the cold and icy conditions.
Winter Tyres save Money!
Modern cars tend to come with expensive wide low profile tyres whereas the winter equivalent tend to cost less because they are smaller in size. Whilst you are driving on the winter tyres you are not wearing away your more expensive summer tyres.
Not only does this save you money but if you save yourself an accident due to winter tyres then you are not paying for any repairs to your car.
How do winter tyres work?
Due to the compound difference in winter tyres compared to standard summer tyres they carry on remaining flexible throughout the cold icy wintery conditions. Also winter tyres contains a large quantity of small grooves that stick out. These dig into the snow and ice and grip onto the road.
